The midterms elections are tomorrow, so it’s time to get out and participate in the democratic process. If you’re in Southern California, LAist has some helpful voting information. I have permanent vote-by-mail status, so I sent in my ballot on Friday. I might have missed had it not been for a previous post at LAist, which tipped me off that the registrars didn’t have my new address. Voting by mail is a real convenience, but unfortunately it means I don’t get my “I Voted!” sticker 🙁
My mom, aunt, and uncle went to the Rally to Restore Sanity (video link) this weekend, and it sounds like they had a great time (along with the other 214,997 people who attended). Mom said there were a bunch of great rally signs, and I got a good look at some of them here.
As for my Halloween, I spent fourteen hours yesterday working on revisions to my thesis. I don’t know if that’s trick or treat, but by the end of the day I had just hit 80 pages, barely shy of 28,000 words. I’m very, very happy with how it’s shaping up, and I’m planning to put a copy of the revised draft on my second reader’s desk Wednesday. Hallelujah!
UPDATE: For So-Cal voters, I meant to include some links to voter guides (compiled with help from TK and Colinski):
