Moving On

diploma from university of illinois

I got my diploma, and my job! Woo-hoo! Celebration! I intend to land in LA on August first (or shortly thereafter) and start work on the 7th. I’m so excited!

It’s funny to me that I got both on the same day—a full-moon nonetheless.

And I have to mention: when I was in LA, waiting for a meeting to start in the back room of a Denny’s at 11pm on Friday night, a song came on the radio. It was the Mamas and the Papas, I think: “I’d be safe and warm/If I was in LA…”

  1. Here are just a few words of advice from a former L.A.er.

Whatever else you do….Don’t go to Inglewood.
Randy’s doughnuts is a must have!

See the guy that juggles chainsaws at Venice Beach(you might also get a double bonus and run into that blue-blocker guy)

If Roscoe’s Chicken ‘N’ Waffles is still open, go there.

Playa Del Rey is a nasty beach.

Don’t go to Graumans Chinese Theater unless you’re going to see a movie.

Never flip anyone the “bird” on the freeway. They will shoot you!

The La Brea Tar Pits have the biggest cockroaches on display that I have ever seen.(that’s saying alot from someone from the projects!)

    Last but not least………

Stay away from the colors blue, red, gray, black, fuschia, mandarin orange, and doo-doo brown. You should be ok wearing pink, purple and yellow and sometimes white as long as it’s not a leisure suit.

Hope to see you soon man! Love Ya!
