Couch to 5K

Road to the Horizon by cogdogblog

I’m starting to feel like the only time I update this blog is when I either accomplish something noteworthy or hatch some big scheme for self improvement. As you might deduce from the post title, this particular entry is one of the latter.

Last week I was bumping around on the internet and discovered a runner’s program called “Couch to 5K,” and so I decided I might as well give it a shot. In the past, my forays into various exercise regimens have all been feet-first endeavors, not in the sense of putting one foot in front of the other but in the sense of jumping in before I knew how hot the water was. Taking advantage of a more gradual approach may prove to be more reasonable and practical. In spite of that fact, I’m still interested in giving it a shot.

Besides, it’s a 9-week program with just three workouts weekly. That’s just twenty-seven workouts. And since I did the first one last night, only twenty-six left to go!

I’ll be sure to keep you all posted.

  1. Hey! I came across this entry when I was reading about your mom…if you decide to start running again and you want some company let me know. I go trail running often so if you want to run sometime let me know – I live near Griffith Park and know the trails there well.
