Resolution

Finished a 10K!

Finished a 10K!

Maybe it’s a function of all the unmet goals I’ve written about here on JavaJunkee.com in the past, but I’m not a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. So I’m not making any.

What I will do, though, is just mention some of the things I made progress on in 2012 and agree that, yes, these are trends I would like to see continued forward in 2013:

  • Continue training for LA Marathon.
  • Meditate regularly.
  • Journal regularly.
  • Don’t eat like I hate myself.
  • Finish using the Rosetta Stone software for Japanese that I’ve owned for over 4 years.

Those are just a few gifts I would like to give myself. I ran a 10K in 1:02:44.54 in early December, and I’m signed up for another 10K on the 10th of February. I’d like to finish it in under an hour. I’m down about 20-25 lbs since I signed up for the marathon, and while weight loss isn’t my primary goal, it’s definitely a nice side effect.

I’m looking at the likelihood of completing a real estate purchase early this year. More will be revealed.

  2. Way to go, Chris! Thanks for a very inspirational post. I started today pretty bummed out about the new year and all the things I want to do but haven’t done yet, the things I should do…etc. I read your post and immediately felt better. It seems like you’re keeping things simple and basically resolving to continue to be good to yourself. I really needed to hear that today. Thanks again.
